CLASS OF 2024 - VCE RESULTS

The College is delighted to congratulate Cathedral College Wangaratta’s Class of 2024 on their outstanding VCE results. We are incredibly proud of all our Year Twelve students, not only for their academic achievements but for their growth, perseverance, and contributions to the College.

This milestone is a testament to their dedication, resilience, and the unwavering support of their families, teachers, and the broader Cathedral College community. Each student’s journey has been unique, and their accomplishments extend far beyond their results—they include leadership, creativity, teamwork, and the values that define our school.

As the Class of 2024 embarks on the next chapter of their lives, we celebrate their success and wish them all the very best for the exciting opportunities ahead.

It gives us great pleasure to acknowledge the Cathedral College Dux for 2024, Bhavaghna Sangars, who achieved an ATAR of 99.60. Bhava demonstrated an exceptional understanding of the content and studied English, Physics, Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Chemistry. Bhava achieved study scores over 40 in all five of her VCE subjects. Bhava has applied to study a Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash University. Austin Rhodes also achieved outstanding academic success with an ATAR of 98.60 and has applied to study a Bachelor of Medicine at Monash University. Congratulations also to Liam Williamson, who achieved an ATAR of 95.90. Liam has applied to study a Bachelor of Commerce at The University of Melbourne.

In summary:

The Class of 2024 achieved 100% satisfactory completion for their VCE studies
8% of students achieved an ATAR above 90
29% of students achieved an ATAR above 80
48% of students achieved an ATAR above 70

Congratulations to Eva McCaffrey (95.1) and Mikayla Contessa (90.4), who also achieved ATARs over 90. This is an incredible achievement. The College had an additional 14 students who achieved an ATAR above 80, which is also outstanding. We would also like to recognise those who accomplished the sixteen study scores of 40 or above, which places those students in the top 8% of the state.

Whilst some may measure VCE success solely by ATAR scores, this does not tell the whole story of each individual’s journey. We proudly celebrate each of our students’ successes. The diversity of Senior School pathways that our students have undertaken, including those who have successfully completed VET certificates, school-based apprenticeships, gained entry to TAFE, or secured ongoing employment, reflects the value Cathedral College Wangaratta places on providing a holistic education that focuses on each individual.

We look forward to the class of 2024 staying in touch with us at the College and sharing with us their achievements and accomplishments over the years to come.
