Parents and Friends Association - Thank you
Cathedral College Wangaratta - Parents and Friends Association
Annual General Meeting - Principal and Acting Chair of Council Report - 2024
What an incredible year it has been for the Parents and Friends Association. Thank you for your efforts, most notably organising several vibrant and inclusive events that have brought our community together. These events are so important in providing opportunities for our parent community to feel involved and contribute to their child’s educational journey. These events and activities offer opportunities for families to connect, build relationships, and support each other. They have included the annual Trivia night, Welcome Morning Tea, Inaugural Ladies' Day, Mothers and Father’s Day stalls and the Community Christmas Fair.
We would also like to thank the P & F for their continued financial support of SchoolTV. While abundant information is available, it’s often fragmented and confusing for busy parents and school staff looking for easy-to-understand guidance and practical strategies. Again, our parent community accessed this platform regularly.
We thank President Hannah Clancy for her Presidency and Vice President Louise Carmichael for her continued support. We also acknowledge Kylie Pickett for taking on the role of Secretary, Lorraine Offerman for continuing her role as Treasurer, and ordinary members Kristy Ryan, Naomi Read, Rebecca Shenfield, and Jessamy Alexander.
Looking towards 2025
The P & F Association's continued focus on creating community stands as a testament to parents and friends involved in years past. There are strong foundations, and our school's inclusive culture is ingrained.
This representative body will no doubt continue to support our young people's well-being and educative outcomes through their efforts. There is not only the opportunity to raise money but also to continue to focus on creating links that ensure belonging and a shared purpose. New or renewed energy, ideas, and initiatives will be welcomed, and the traditions of the past will be kept.
Next year, we will roll out our new five-year strategic plan, with a continued emphasis on strengthening our community connections. As we enter this new chapter, we recognise the vital role the P&F will play in helping us achieve our goal of nurturing and expanding our sense of community.
