Meet Heidi - CCW's 2025 Anglican Identity and Service Captain
I started at Cathedral College Wangaratta in Year Seven, coming from Wangaratta West Primary School.
This year I am studying English, Biology, General Maths, Health and Human Development, Physical Education, and last year I fast-tracked Psychology.
My goal for next year is to take a GAP year and perhaps work as a teaching assistant. After that, I want to go to university to study Primary School Teaching.
My role as the Anglican Identity and Service Captain works in many ways. My main role is to work with Rev Mark and Mr Graham for our Chapel Services. We meet frequently and discuss ideas on how we can work together efficiently. In my position, I have included a once-a-term student-led Chapel Service. I wanted to be able to present a service that is relatable and more engaging to all, and that is provided by their peers. So far, these services have been really well received. I am aiming to provide a space where students feel safe and be able to ask any questions they may have. I believe that it’s an important time for students to look into their beliefs and build their moral foundation, and I am in a position to be a person that they can talk to and invest in their journey. With a big school, it's easy to get lost, so Chapel and my role are an opportunity for all students to feel safe and heard.
The collaborative nature of the Portfolio Captains allows us to work together and help each other where we are needed.
I’m looking forward to continuing to work in this role and developing it further.
